Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Paynters Counseling Center LLC website and participation in our SMS text messaging program. Clinical services are governed by separate intake documents, informed consent forms, and practice policies.
1. Website Use
Our website provides information about our practice and services. Website content is for general informational purposes and is not a substitute for individualized professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Visiting our website, submitting an inquiry, or exchanging text messages does not by itself establish a therapist-client relationship.
Please use our website and communication services lawfully and do not submit information that is false, abusive, or infringes another person's privacy.
2. SMS Terms
Program: Paynters Counseling Center LLC sends text messages about appointment confirmations, reminders and administrative updates to clients who opt in. Consent is optional and not a condition of receiving services.
Opting out: You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text STOP to (978) 440-2547 or reply STOP to any message. Replying CANCEL, END, QUIT or UNSUBSCRIBE also works. After you send STOP, we will send you one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that, you will no longer receive text messages from us. If you want to join again, sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending messages to you again.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. For questions about your text or data plan, please contact your wireless provider.

3. Appointment Changes
Existing clients who need to cancel or reschedule an appointment should log in to the client portal to manage their appointment or send a message to their provider.
Appointment changes remain subject to the scheduling and cancellation policies provided during intake. Sending a text message does not by itself confirm that an appointment has been changed or canceled. Opting out of text messages does not cancel an appointment or end your care. Do not rely only on text reminders to keep track of scheduled appointments.
4. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information. Our separate Notice of Privacy Practices addresses protected health information and your rights concerning that information.
Standard text messaging may not provide the same privacy protections as our client portal. Anyone with access to your device or mobile account may be able to read your messages.
Please use the client portal for sensitive clinical information and confidential documents.
5. Emergencies and Urgent Needs
Our website, email, client portal, and text messaging program are not emergency services and may not be monitored continuously.
If you are experiencing an emergency or are in immediate danger, call 911. In the United States, call or text 988 for suicide or mental health crisis support.
Do not wait for a response from our practice when immediate assistance is needed.
6. Third-Party Services
Our website may link to third-party services, including the client portal. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions. The current version will display its effective date.
An update to these terms does not, by itself, authorize additional categories of SMS messages. We will obtain additional consent when required.
