Depression Psychotherapy

Depression Psychotherapy offers a steady, nonjudgmental space when life feels heavy, flat, or hopeless. Whether you are facing a recent downturn or a long, familiar fog, you do not have to navigate it alone or "snap out of it" on your own.
We begin by understanding how depression shows up for you-changes in sleep, appetite, energy, motivation, or the way you talk to yourself. Supportive depression therapy gives you room to name what has been hard, grieve losses, and untangle the stories you may have absorbed about what your struggles mean about you.

From there, we gently shift into approaches that can help lift some of the weight. Behavioral activation therapy focuses on reconnecting with small, doable activities that add a bit of structure, meaning, or pleasure back into your days. This is not about forcing yourself into big changes, but about experimenting with tiny steps that can gradually increase energy and sense of connection.

Often, depression is fed by harsh, automatic thoughts-"I am a burden," "Nothing will ever change," "I always mess things up." Through cognitive restructuring, we slow these thoughts down, examine where they come from, and practice more balanced, compassionate ways of seeing yourself and your circumstances. This can reduce shame and open up space for hope.

Coping skills development is woven throughout our work. Together, we explore strategies for managing tough moments: grounding exercises when you feel numb or overwhelmed, plans for getting through low-energy days, and ways to reach out for support safely. Over time, Depression Psychotherapy aims to help you not only feel some relief from symptoms, but also rebuild a life that feels more aligned with who you are and what matters to you.
